Care Guide

Leather Bags & Accessories  home care: Caring for and prolonging the life of genuine leather is simple. First of all you need to know the type of leather to maintain.

Your item has leather "flower side"
Calf, Cowhide and Lamb
(silky to the touch) :
  • Using a slightly damp cloth clean the compromised area, then once clean and dry, pass another cloth soaked in neutral wax to polish the surface. You will get an impeccable result.
Your item has leather "crust side"
Suede and Nubuck
(fluffy to the touch) :
  • Avoid rubbing with darker clothing and protect your bag from rain.
  • Use Waterproofing every 2-3 months to protect it from moisture; however, sometimes small accidents happen or your handbag needs a little clean.
    • Superficial cleaning: use a stain remover or a soft brush while rubbing gently. Then use talcum powder (sprinkle it on the article, leave on for 8hrs then brush)
    • Deep cleaning: use white vinegar or ammonia (prepare a 50/50 mixture of water + the selected product) then gently rub with a soft brush and with a clean and wet cloth, rinse by dabbing gently, let dry.

Here is your item properly cleaned. If the task persists, do not hesitate to seek the help of a professional leather care expert.

Synthetic Bags & Accessories  home care: Prolonged contact with water, exposure near a heat source (radiator, hairdryer, iron or sun) are to be avoided.

  • Clean by passing a sponge soaked in warm water and laundry, try it again but only moistened to rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry and wipe with a clean cloth.
  • Straw items: brush dry, then brush round with a soft wet brush of water with added hydrogen peroxide.

VILLAMIZAR bags & accessories with ornaments and inserts of different materials (metal, sequins, glitter, embroidery, lace...) These do not require maintenance and should not be washed.

STORAGE OF YOUR BAGS  By properly storing your handbags and other accessories, you can extend their lifespan. Bags should be stored in a dry and airy place away from direct light. Slip tissue paper or plastic inside your bags to maintain their shape.
Finally, choose to store them in their fabric covers provided to protect them.
